Welcome

BTS Skytrain

Welcome — your easy way to explore Bangkok above the traffic.

Skip the jams and hop on the elevated green lines into malls, food streets, and river piers. Gold, Yellow, and Pink sit on the same BTS-group map.

BTS train types

Five BTS-group systems share the map below — heavy-rail green lines, a riverside people-mover, and two monorails.

Sukhumvit Line
BTS Sukhumvit Line train above Bangkok

สายสุขุมวิท · Heavy rail

Khu Khot to Kheha — the long dark-green spine through Siam, Asok, and Phrom Phong. Same ticket as Silom at CEN.

Silom Line
BTS Silom Line elevated track

สายสีลม · Heavy rail

National Stadium to Bang Wa — light-green cars toward Silom, Saphan Taksin (river boats), and the Gold Line at Krung Thon Buri.

Gold Line
Gold Line shuttle toward ICONSIAM

สายสีทอง · People mover

Short automated hop from Krung Thon Buri to Charoen Nakhon (ICONSIAM). Flat second fare — not on a Green Line ticket.

Yellow Line
Yellow Line monorail in Bangkok

สายสีเหลือง · Monorail

Driverless Lat Phrao–Samrong monorail. Meets Sukhumvit at Samrong; Rabbit works, but the fare is separate.

Highlights

Popular stations & nearby attractions

Hop off and explore. These stops sit next to Bangkok’s most useful visitor neighbourhoods.

View of Siam BTS Station from Siam Paragon CEN

Siam (CEN)

Shopping paradise — Siam Paragon, Siam Center, Siam Discovery, MBK, and CentralWorld.

2–5 min walk · Sukhumvit × Silom interchange

Siam is the heart of the Green Line. Change here between Sukhumvit and Silom on the same ticket. Malls sit on both sides of the station; MBK and the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre are a short walk toward National Stadium (W1).

  • Interchange: Silom and Sukhumvit (same paid area)
  • Walk: 2–5 minutes to the main malls
  • Crowded at weekends and late afternoon
Sukhumvit and Asok skyline near BTS Asok E4

Asok (E4)

Terminal 21, Sukhumvit nightlife, and an easy indoor walk to MRT Blue (Sukhumvit).

2–5 min walk · MRT Blue

Asok is the most useful east-Sukhumvit swap onto the underground Blue Line. Terminal 21 is attached to the station area; hotels and restaurants fill the soi on both sides of Sukhumvit Road.

  • Interchange: MRT Blue at Sukhumvit
  • Old Town temples: continue on MRT Blue toward Sanam Chai
Ari neighbourhood near BTS Ari N5

Ari (N5)

Trendy cafes, sweet treats, and a walkable neighbourhood with strong street food.

5–10 min walk

Ari is the easy “local evening” stop north of Siam. Most cafes and restaurants sit along Ari Soi 1–4, a few minutes on foot from the gates. Come for coffee, then stay for dinner.

Saphan Taksin and the Chao Phraya riverside S6

Saphan Taksin (S6)

Sathorn Pier for Chao Phraya boats, plus the hop toward Asiatique and the riverside.

2–5 min walk · river boats

This is the Green Line’s river door. Follow signs down to Sathorn Pier for the Chao Phraya Express Boat. One stop further west, Krung Thon Buri (S7) connects to the Gold Line for ICONSIAM — that hop is a second fare.

Bangkok cityscape around BTS Phrom Phong E5

Phrom Phong (E5)

EmQuartier, Emporium, and a short walk to Benjakitti Park.

3–7 min walk

Phrom Phong is the polished Sukhumvit stop: two malls linked by skywalk, and Benjakitti Park if you want trees after the air-con. Thong Lo (E6) is the next station if you prefer bars and smaller restaurants.

BTS Skytrain with Victory Monument in the background N3

Victory Monument (N3)

Famous local eats and a busy interchange for city buses.

2–5 min walk

The monument roundabout is a classic local-food zone (boat noodles, grilled chicken, fruit). It is also a long-distance van and bus hub — useful once, confusing in rush hour. Ride one stop south to Phaya Thai (N2) for the Airport Rail Link.

BTS train used to reach the riverside Gold Line G2

Charoen Nakhon (G2)

Gold Line stop with a covered walkway into ICONSIAM.

Covered walk · 17 THB Gold Line fare

Ride Silom to Krung Thon Buri (S7), walk to Gold Line G1, then one stop to Charoen Nakhon. Gold Line is a flat extra fare (about 17 THB) — it is not part of a Green Line single ticket. Rabbit Card works on both.

Heading to Wat Phra Kaew and the old city? BTS does not stop there. Change to MRT Blue at Asok (E4) or Sala Daeng (S2) and ride toward Sanam Chai.
