Bangkok · Silom–Sathorn

Mahanakhon SkyWalk

Bangkok’s pixel tower with Thailand’s highest open observation deck — a glass floor at more than 310 metres, wind on your face, and a full 360° sweep from Silom to the Chao Phraya.

If you are new to Bangkok’s skyline stops, this one feels different. King Power Mahanakhon is not only a tall building; it is a vertical destination — observation decks, thrill rides, digital art, and rooftop dining stacked inside Ole Scheeren’s unraveling glass façade.

Come for the Glass Tray. Stay for the sunset that turns the city electric. Leave with the sense that Bangkok looks biggest when you are standing still above it.

The tower

A skyline that looks unfinished on purpose

Architecture as motion — pixel blocks that seem to peel away as the tower rises.

Designed by German architect Ole Scheeren, King Power Mahanakhon rises about 314 metres above Naradhiwas Ratchanakarin Road. Its famous “pixelated” spiral makes the glass façade look as if digital cubes have been carved free — a landmark you can spot from the BTS long before you reach Chong Nonsi.

Inside the tower: The Standard hotel, The Ritz-Carlton Residences, and the King Power experiences that draw most visitors — Mahanakhon SkyWalk on floors 74 and 78, I-Tilt on 75, OJO Bangkok on 76–77, and SkyVerse on floor 4. At street level, Mahanakhon CUBE gathers lifestyle retail and the Mahanakhon Eatery food hall.

It is an easy half-day or sunset plan if you are based in Silom, Sathorn, or anywhere on the BTS Silom Line — and one of the clearest ways to read Bangkok’s geography from above.

Highlights

What to do at Mahanakhon

From glass floors to digital art — the experiences stacked inside the tower.

Mahanakhon SkyWalk (floors 74 & 78) — Thailand’s highest 360° observation deck. Floor 74 is the air-conditioned indoor gallery with interactive screens, binoculars, and Bangkok’s highest postbox. Floor 78 is the outdoor Peak: open air, city wind, and the signature Glass Tray — about 63 square metres of clear floor suspended more than 310 metres above the street. Thailand’s fastest video-themed elevators reach floor 74 in under 50 seconds.

Mahanakhon Bangkok I-Tilt (floor 75) — an outdoor tilting glass platform that leans guests forward at up to 65 degrees, roughly 296 metres above the city, with a real-time heart-rate read for the brave. Add-on ticket; outdoor rides can pause in bad weather.

OJO Bangkok (floors 76–77) — billed as Thailand’s highest Mexican restaurant, for dinner with a skyline edge. Mahanakhon SkyVerse (floor 4) is an immersive digital-art and interactive space. SkyRides and TukTuk Quest add VR motion rides for anyone who wants one more thrill after the view. Down below, Mahanakhon CUBE is the lifestyle and dining community — including Mahanakhon Eatery for street-food and multi-style plates without leaving the complex.

Add-on experiences Typical starting prices: SkyVerse from about 350 THB, I-Tilt from about 450 THB, SkyRides / TukTuk Quest roughly 200–250 THB. Combo packages often cost less than buying everything separately.
How to book Book online ahead for better rates and shorter queues. Buy on the King Power Mahanakhon official site, or via major platforms such as Klook, KKday, or Trip.com (combos with food vouchers or ride tickets appear often). You receive a QR / e-voucher by email or app — scan at the entrance, then ride the multimedia elevator to the decks.
Best time & tips Late afternoon into sunset gives you day light, golden hour, and night city in one visit — that is why sunset tickets cost more. Dress for breeze on the outdoor Peak. Leave large bags, tripods, drones, food, and alcohol behind — restricted items are not allowed on the SkyWalk. Wheelchair access is available; ask guest services if you need help.
