Make something
Umbrella painting in Bo Sang, celadon and cotton in Chiang Mai, shadow puppets in the south, fruit carving, and incense or herbal balm workshops. The point is a conversation with a maker, not a perfect souvenir.
Watch and listen
Khon, likay, mor lam, and local temple fairs are uneven and wonderful. Ask before photographing people in ritual. A workshop plus an evening performance is a full cultural day without rushing.
