Housing & Real Estate

Renting vs buying, condo foreign-quota basics, and the questions to ask before a deposit.

Rent first

A 12-month lease in a building you have seen in rainy season is wiser than buying on a brochure. Check water pressure, noise, and flood history. Agents help; read the contract anyway.

Buying is specialized

Foreigners typically buy condos in the foreign quota, not land, with rare structured exceptions. Use an independent lawyer. This page should later explain leasehold, company structures (and their risks), and common fees.

Notes to expand

  • See the unit at night and in rain
  • Juristic person / common-area fees
  • Never skip due diligence
  • Not legal advice — say so on the page
